    Frequently asked questions

    What is a HEIC file?

It's the photo format iPhone has used since iOS 11. It takes up less space than JPG, but many websites, forms and computer programs still can't open it. Converting to JPG makes it open anywhere.

Are my photos uploaded to a server?

No. Conversion happens inside your browser, on your device. No photo is sent anywhere — you can even turn off Wi-Fi after the page loads.

    Does the photo lose quality?

The JPG is output at high quality (90%). In practice, you won't see a difference — and the file size is usually similar to the original.

How do I make iPhone take photos directly in JPG?

Go to Settings → Camera → Formats and choose "Most Compatible". From then on, new photos will be in JPG. For older ones, convert here.

Can I convert multiple photos at once?

Yes, up to 30 per batch (maximum 50 MB each). At the end you can download everything at once in a .zip.

Does it work on iPhone itself or only on a computer?

It works on any device with an up-to-date browser: iPhone, Android, computer. Just open the page and drop your photos.
