    How it works

    1. Pick the category and units

Select the category (length, mass, temperature, volume, area or speed) and then the source and target units in the two selectors.

    2. Type the value

Comma or dot as decimal separator, either works. The ⇄ button swaps the units in one click — km to miles, miles to km.

    3. Read the result

The conversion appears instantly, and right below comes the table with common equivalences for the chosen unit. Change a number, everything updates.

    Frequently asked questions

How many square meters in an alqueire?

The alqueire paulista, used here, is 24,200 m² — the same as 2.42 hectares. Brazil has other alqueires (the mineiro is 48,400 m²); this tool uses the paulista, the most common in land listings.

How do I convert Fahrenheit to Celsius?

Pick the temperature category, Fahrenheit in "From" and Celsius in "To". The formula behind it is (°F − 32) × 5/9 — but you don't need to memorize it: type the value and the answer appears.

Is the gallon US or imperial?

US, 3.785 liters — the one in recipes, paint cans and car specs. The imperial gallon (4.546 L) is a different measure and is not included.

What cup size do you use?

The standard recipe cup: 240 mL. The tablespoon is 15 mL. Those are cookbook values — the cup in your kitchen may vary a bit.

Why does the result have so many decimal places?

We show up to 8 significant digits so the conversion works both for estimating (1 mile ≈ 1.6 km) and for precision work. Round it however you need.

Do I need internet to convert?

Only to open the page. The math happens in your browser, on your device — no value is ever sent to any server.
